Dutch Media Innovators Demo and Happy Hour @SXSW 2017
Dutch Companies to Disrupt Sports Broadcasting at the Dutch Media Innovators Happy Hour. The event will include a live sports broadcasting demo and a game of panna soccer with 2016 Street Soccer USA champions Nicholas “Nicosuave” Rogers and Daniel Theobald and Professional Futsal player Isaiah “Akka” Escobedo.
Interested parties in the sports innovation and media industry are still welcome to join and can RSVP here.
The featured technology will include:
Sport Studio Automated is a new technology that automatically detects game highlights and computes statistics in real time during sports matches. Game tactics can be detected by applying pattern recognition for training or scouting purposes. While player positions, game tactics and statistics are collected in real time, this technology can also produce movie clips containing the highlights, geared towards mass media distribution.
The Virtual Director, also by TNO, is a fully automated application where the software automatically follows (pan, tilt and zoom) that part of a live event that is most interesting to viewers. The demo will show the virtual director in action at a soccer match in partnership with Seastarlab’s Strivecast and is also ready to be used now for basketball.
Play Now!, the only DIY toolkit for second screens by Angry Bytes, will demonstrate its latest extension: live sports. Broadcasters and sports event producers can have real-time interaction with in-person spectators or television viewers at home. The technology can engage with 1 million users at once.
At the New Dutch Wave house we will demonstrate our newest technology live on a small Panna soccer field with professional players. Guests will be able to use the Play Now! technology by visiting Panna.Live and can join in a real game as well.
