Sara Nix, 30, Producer at HALAL. Sara kind of started producing as a kid. During playtime she would assign everyone roles to play, sorted out all the toys and gear, made schedules for her birthday parties and was convinced that her way was the only right one. Setting a solid foundation for her production career.
After studying Communications and Media in Amsterdam, internships, jobs and living in Athens, Cape Town and traveling through the US, Sara knew that she would always want to combine work with traveling and connecting people.
Her production career has not only taken her all over the world even more, but has also landed her in the craziest situations. She had to drop a guy blindfolded in the jungle of Cambodia for Heineken, grill meat on lava on a volcano on Hawaii for Jupiler, and drink Amstel beers with a husky sleigh ride guy in Lapland.
For Sara it is not only about working for big brands and artists, she has also joined a foundation called Township Film School I AM, in Cape Town. Built on donations from friends, family and likeminded individuals and companies, they want to integrate the underprivileged communities into the local film industry by teaching them the skills and guide them from internships to jobs.
After 6 years of freelancing adventure she decided that HALAL was the company she wanted to join full time. An Amsterdam based film production company & photography agency with an international hands-on spirit and tremendous vision in style and storytelling – perfect fit with Sara’s passion for production. Aren’t they lucky to have her!
