Mark van der Heijden

Mark van der Heijden (1986) originates from the south of Holland, a quaint country known for tulips, cheese, clogs, and coffee shops. After being submerged in the Amsterdam ad scene for seven years, Mark waved goodbye to his job as a copywriter, tossed his home into a backpack, and hit the world as ‘The Backpacker Intern’, helping out agencies, brands and charities in exchange for room and board. The journey has brought him to 27 countries on 7 continents where he worked at 32 companies.

Mark shared his story at TEDxTeen in NYC, SXSW Festival, Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, was invited by The White House, featured by Mashable as Inspiring Travel Instagrammer to follow and is one of the Top 100 Most Influential Travel Bloggers in the World. In February 2016 Mark co-founded Wanderbrief, a global community that connects companies with international talent trading their creative skills for experience abroad. Wanderbrief helps to solve business challenges through collaborative creativity while fostering global citizenship and cultural exchange.

Wanderbrief is a platform where freelancers trade their creative services for experience at the most amazing companies abroad. Since 78% of millennials value experience over money, you get the best of both worlds; you work with the most driven talent for half the price of a local freelancer. Among their clients are Vodafone, Heineken, Amnesty International and Ricoh.

Within 8 months after their start Wanderbrief has grown into a community of 6000+ creatives from 77 countries and established partnerships with agencies, brands and NGOs like Adobe, Vodafone, RICOH and Amnesty International. In June 2016 Wanderbrief was selected for the prestigious R/GA Lions Innovation Start-Up Academy and the company recently became runner-up for ‘Best Work Experience Provider’ at the World Youth Travel Awards 2016.

Doki Tops is the founder of Utomik. Utomik Inc. is a USA and Dutch-based innovative startup founded in September 2014 by a highly experienced management team with over 70 years of combined game industry experience. The company’s new on-line PC gaming subscription service offers unlimited gaming for a fixed monthly fee. Its unique technology makes playing games as easy as listening to music on Spotify. Utomik powered games start in one easy click and continue to load to a user’s PC while they play. Utomik downloads a small part to disk, enough to start playing fast. The rest loads to the PC while playing. Get 100% original games, no video streaming.

Doki Tops is their ambitious and very inspiring CEO. A fanatic modder of Dune2 as an early teenager, continued this passion into the shooter era of Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, Unreal, Quake3. This lead him to start loving game design and everything related to games. His dad supported this insane hobby with what little money he had; “I owe my gaming career to his keen insight, that apparently game development was the thing that could really motivate and invigorate me”.  In 2006 he finished college  and has since helped develop over 12 games, both entertainment & serious games for Top 500 companies and ran a Game technology company where he has done business with top publishers across the globe. In 2014 everything fell in place with his startup Utomik.

Drive Like Maria

Drive like Maria’s killer rock songs have been described as "influenced by Led Zeppelin, early ZZ Top, Neil Young and Queens Of The Stone Age", among others. But none of these great bands has Drive like Maria's twenty two year old female lead guitarist who can tear up a room.

Some are still calling Drive like Maria “one of the Low Countries’ best kept secrets”. But not for much longer. As word of their solid live reputation is quickly spreading, they are gaining a global following. Or as one American fan put it: “Wicked. Fucking. Awesome.”

Justin Bolognino

Justin Bolognino’s (the “g” is silent) endeavors are threaded by experiential, real-time design and technology focused on revealing hidden human connections. The “Synchronicity Architect” is Founder and CEO of META.is, creator, designer and curator of The Lab at Panorama, founder of Learned Evolution, Silent G Farms, and #FEED powered by Twitter, and was Creative & Media Director at Brooklyn Bowl from its inception. On April 1st, 2014 Bolognino and both companies were acquired by SFX Entertainment, where Justin served for over a year as Creative Director of SFX. As of May 1, 2015, Bolognino left SFX and re-gained control of META and is currently re-building the company from an experiential talent agency to fully integrated experiential media production shop. Learned Evolution, born in 2006, was a creative digital agency that specialized in multidisciplinary design, social media marketing, and tech-savvy experiences. Learned Evolution’s signature event is #FEED powered by Twitter. First launched in 2011 at SXSW, #FEED brings social media to life in real time with interactive art, @NIGHT parties, daytime summits, and health and wellness activities. LE is currently on ice until it finds its next evolution. META.IS CREATES MULTI-SENSORY EXPERIENCES THAT IGNITE THE HUMAN SPIRIT WITH STORY, TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN. Our global network of Experience Directors inspire changes in human behavior by combining intelligent ideas, beautiful artistry, spirited music, interactive technology, trending fashion, engaging virtual reality, and unforgettable spectacles. We specialize in the Art of Being There. Learned Evolution was first retained by Brooklyn Bowl in 2007, where Bolognino crafted a unique marketing and design strategy that favored social media over traditional advertising—a move that, upon the venue’s opening in 2009, launched Brooklyn Bowl as a celebrated institution. In 2011, Brooklyn Bowl was the 10th most searched Google keyword in the NYC metro area, and is has grown into a national brand with Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas and Brooklyn Bowl London now in full swing.
Justin made his foray into media quickly after graduating Magna Cum Laude Bachelors of Science in Rhetoric, Communications and Eastern Philosophy from Northeastern University in 2002. His first big job was Associate Producer of the documentary film “The Wetlands Preserved,” profiling the legendary TriBeCa nightclub. Soon after in 2004, at 24, he became Production Manager for global digital film hub RESFEST. In 2006, Bolognino was festival director for the Green Apple Film Festival at the American Museum of Natural History & produced Jonathan Levine Gallery’s “Ruas de Sao Paulo” launch campaign. He also produced Tomorrow Unlimited’s “Creators Series” of interactive art, live music in early 2007.
Bolognino’s endeavors attract large clients such as Twitter, Samsung, Vimeo, Android, Lincoln Motor Co, Ralph Lauren, and more, but his business philosophy does not reflect a “bigger is better” mentality. As small companies, Justin’s ventures pride themselves on producing complex projects while maintaining the flexibility to evolve and redefine the relationship between art, technology and culture. Bolognino currently lives in Brooklyn with wife Elizabeth, daughters Chloe and Francesca, and dog Charlotte Mingus.
