Mark van der Heijden (1986) originates from the south of Holland, a quaint country known for tulips, cheese, clogs, and coffee shops. After being submerged in the Amsterdam ad scene for seven years, Mark waved goodbye to his job as a copywriter, tossed his home into a backpack, and hit the world as ‘The Backpacker Intern’, helping out agencies, brands and charities in exchange for room and board. The journey has brought him to 27 countries on 7 continents where he worked at 32 companies.

In 2014 everything fell in place with his startup Utomik.

Fred Galstaun Was born in 1976 in the city of Oss, The Netherlands. After many years of experimenting and experiencing he spend a few years on a spiritual quest in India. Within this scene He met the CEO of BOOKING.COM in at a meditation course in 2003. Here he worked for 5 years as a marketeer and business developer. After that he started in the business of Infrared Saunas under the name of NOBEL SAUNAS in 2008. After a rough period with his company in 2011 he received a burnout. After months of energy lacking and negative thiking spirals, he started feeling good again while laying on the beach in Scheveningen. Inspired by the immense healing power of nature he was challenged by the idea of simulating this effect in a closed personal environment. After 4 years of research and development SENSIKS. was finalized and introduced to the market in december 2016 in Amsterdam the Netherlands.

Iskander Smit is working at agency Info.nl in Amsterdam, that designs and develops digital services. Iskander is responsible for research and development and leading labs.info.nl. This R&D department dedicated to new developments, and emerging connected technologies. Labs conducts research and experiments on the internet that enters our daily life and how we interact beyond the screen. We work closely together with research institutes and universities. Iskander has a background as Industrial Design Engineer and have been working as creative and strategist in digital services. He has a longtime track record for designing and thinking on the internet of things and one of the thought leaders in the Netherlands on IoT. Since 2009 Iskander is member of Council Internet of Things and in 2013 co-founder of the Behavior Design AMS meetup. In 2014 he initiated and co-organised the Amsterdam edition of Berlin conference ThingsCon, a leading conference on the design of the internet of things. His is chairman of ThingsCon Amsterdam since 2017.

Jeroen Wimmers is founder of Illusive Games, a young game studio. He is finalist of the SXSW Gaming Award 2017 in the category Single Player. He started his company after graduating at the HKU Arts Academy and working on the very successful title Westerado, already good for more than 100,000 copies. With his own studio he aims to develop games accessible for literally everyone regardless of age, cultural background and gaming experience. Learned Evolution was first retained by Brooklyn Bowl in 2007, where Bolognino crafted a unique marketing and design strategy that favored social media over traditional advertising—a move that, upon the venue’s opening in 2009, launched Brooklyn Bowl as a celebrated institution. In 2011, Brooklyn Bowl was the 10th most searched Google keyword in the NYC metro area, and is has grown into a national brand with Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas and Brooklyn Bowl London now in full swing.
Justin made his foray into media quickly after graduating Magna Cum Laude Bachelors of Science in Rhetoric, Communications and Eastern Philosophy from Northeastern University in 2002. His first big job was Associate Producer of the documentary film “The Wetlands Preserved,” profiling the legendary TriBeCa nightclub. Soon after in 2004, at 24, he became Production Manager for global digital film hub RESFEST. In 2006, Bolognino was festival director for the Green Apple Film Festival at the American Museum of Natural History & produced Jonathan Levine Gallery’s “Ruas de Sao Paulo” launch campaign. He also produced Tomorrow Unlimited’s “Creators Series” of interactive art, live music in early 2007.
Bolognino’s endeavors attract large clients such as Twitter, Samsung, Vimeo, Android, Lincoln Motor Co, Ralph Lauren, and more, but his business philosophy does not reflect a “bigger is better” mentality. Jouke joined MediaMonks as the first creative Monk when MySpace was still a thing. Since 2005, Jouke and MediaMonks have grown into creative powers of international fame. After gaining recognition as an Art Director and a Creative Director, Jouke is now the Global Executive Creative Director of one of the top digital production companies worldwide. He has worked on over a hundred award-winning projects, including Adidas: Nitrocharge Your Game, Geox: 7 Days of Rain, The Universal Typeface Experiment by BIC and the US Airforce.com site. This passionate pursuit of creative excellence earned Jouke a seat on the jury at top-tier awards ceremonies such as the Webby’s, ADC Global Award, and he is routinely asked to share his knowledge as a guest on shows like Pixel Brasil, FITC Amsterdam, and Dubai Lynx. Klasien van de Zandschulp is co-founder and partner of Lava Lab (design & technology innovation lab in Amsterdam). Her work focuses on interaction design; often blending augmented reality and digital storytelling.
Klasien has vast experience in initiating and founding projects including the first virtual (augmented) festival Zo Niet, Dan Toch, the location based storytelling app HearUsHere, gamified silent disco platform DuoDisco and the successful Interactive Storytelling Meetup in Amsterdam.
Her latest projects are ‘iPerform’, that takes you on a physical expedition through the Van Gogh museum and the art education program #GoldenAge, that allows a young museum audience to chat with the 17th Century portraits from the collection of Amsterdam Museum and Rijksmuseum.
